HCA Richmond Hospitals is a network of four hospitals - including CJW Medical Center, Henrico Doctors' Hospitals, John Randolph Medical Center, and Retreat Hospital - and seven outpatient centers. These facilities have nearly 1,600 beds and annually deliver about 7,000 babies, perform 1,000 open-heart procedures and provide nearly every medical service that is needed by the community. HCA Richmond is part of HCA, which is based in Nashville and operates about 270 facilities nationwide.
Our dedication to patient safety, to the care and improvement of human life, and to the communities we serve translates into patient care that is second to none. We are continually identifying new and better ways to treat patients by adopting best practices and investing in new technology. Our goal is to improve medication processes and systems, establish meaningful reporting mechanisms, ensure staff competence and promote a culture of patient safety. Our focus on improving the medication-use process is simply an extension of our culture of putting patients first.
Recently, more than 100 HCA employees, as well as several physicians, designed a company-wide strategy for enhancing medication practices. HCA Corporate worked with Meditech, McKesson Automated Health and other vendors to develop the technology solutions recommended by the design team. At HCA, all employees, doctors, nurses, and technicians take a collaborative approach towards increasing patient safety.
